WASHINGTON, DC – Anti-gun activist David Hogg saw himself physically removed from a House Judiciary Committee proceeding earlier in July after he decided to interrupt lawmakers to yell out various talking points against firearms as well as lodge accusations that Republicans are racist.
The debacle occurred on July 20th while House members were in the midst of a hearing regarding the potential banning of “assault weapons,” where Republican Rep. Andy Biggs was voicing his reasons for opposing measures aimed at limiting the Second Amendment.
Rep. Biggs was highlighting the current issues impacting the southern border, likening the massive amounts of illegal immigration occurring as being tantamount to an “invasion” and suggested that any bans imposed on various firearms would rob American citizens of a means to protect themselves from this very invasion.
At this point, Hogg stood up and began yelling at the congressman, claiming that Rep. Biggs was channeling the sentiments of past mass shooters and racists by simply describing what is actively transpiring along the southern border.
“You are reiterating the points of mass shooters in your manifesto. The shooter at my high school: anti-Semitic, anti-black and racist. The shooter in El Paso described it as an invasion. Guess what? Those guns are coming from the United States of America. They aren’t coming from Mexico. They are not coming from Mexico. You are reiterating the points of a mass shooter, sir. Sir, you are perpetuating violence. You need to realize it’s not about a Democrat or Republican. Stop these things now.”
The anti-gun activist was removed from the proceeding, with Rep. Biggs both saying during Hogg’s escorting out and in subsequent interviews that by the standard of Democrats, Hogg basically engaged in an “insurrection” via his interrupting of an official House proceeding.
Following Hogg’s escorting out of the House, a rep from the American Firearms Association lampooned the anti-gun activist in the hallway, saying, “Hey, David Hogg, did your mom ever tell you to sit down and be quiet when the adults are talking? They didn’t teach you that? Looks like you gave up your right to bear arms there.”
Someone within the congressional hallway approached the gentleman filming Hogg, asking what he was doing and trying to deter him from filming the anti-gun activist.
“Folks, right behind me is David Hogg. We all recognize his name, alright, squealing like a hog in there. Interrupting a official proceeding of the United States government with his fake, fake news, fake talking points…”
Hogg at this point approached the gentleman’s camera while holding up his own phone as it was playing some kind of music and saying, “Disney lawyers, get this, take this down, this is copyrighted,” which the video cuts off from that point.
