Here’s a clip of his moving performance:He made it to Hollywood but was eliminated after that round following a performance of Marvin Gaye‘s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
During his audition, Kiker shared he had no prior singing experience, to which Richie asked him to go warm up and then come back.
Host Ryan Seacrest then took him outside to a restaurant to perform in front of a group of strangers. After he came back, Richie asked him once more how much experience he had.
Kiker replied, “I have some experience now.”
Bryan then hopped on the piano as Kiker performed. Perry was brought to tears while Richie went up to Kiker and said, “I don’t know about you guys, but I want us all to let you know, you’re a hell of a man.”
